NOMINATIONS FOR THE 2001 DIMITAR PESHEV PRIZE WINNER

I - IN GENERAL

- The presentation of the Dimitar Peshev International Foundation is an integral part of and an attachment to this form.

- The Prize named after Dimitar Yossifov Peshev, Deputy Speaker of the 25th National Assembly of Bulgaria, is an annual prize.

- The Prize shall be awarded by the Speaker of the National Assembly in the House of Parliament of Bulgaria on November 9, the International Day to Commemorate the Victims of Nazism (Kristalnacht).

- The Prize shall have a financial equivalent.

- The prize winner shall be selected by an International Honorary Committee from among the nominees;

- The Foundation's home page shall be open to Internet opinion clicks;

- There shall be no limit to the nominations in terms of number, gender, race, religion, nationality, party membership, age or the nominating entity which may be an individual, an association, an organization, an institution or any other corporate entity;

- The Dimitar Peshev Foundation shall regularly update its page on the rules, deadlines and mailed or e-mailed nominations.

- THE DEADLINE OF SUBMITTING NOMINATIONS SHALL BE JULY 30, 2001 (postmark is valid).

II - ELIGIBILITY

- The Prize shall be awarded to living personalities (an individual or a group of individuals).

- The nominee shall fit into at least one of the principles as laid down in the objectives and Charter of the Dimitar Peshev Foundation, viz.:

- The nominee shall have merits in combating and preventing the various forms of genocide.

- The nominee shall have a contribution to keeping alive the historical memory of resistance against the various forms of genocide.

- The nominee shall assist studies on and inform the public about the contribution of definite individuals to the struggle against the various forms of genocide, including the totalitarian regimes.
